“Children of the Landscape” is an audiovisual presentation of 70 images that explores the human relationship with the landscape. The photographs and the structuring of the sequence have evolved over an 18 year period.

Opening with a large natural vista the sequence takes the viewer on a journey that passes through the natural world into the urban environment where the focus falls on characters that exist in this modified landscape. The sequence has four sections that move back and forth between the altered and the natural with each section being a variation on passing human time in their constructed environment.

The conclusion begins with imagery that brings the viewer back to the opening photographs followed by a series of landscapes that progress through day and night ending with a somber dusk sky. Accompanying the images is a soundtrack composed specifically for the piece that subtly guides the emotional territory of the viewer through each of the sections.
